The Toronto Police Service 43 Division is your Community Police Station, located at 4331 Lawrence Avenue East, just east of Morningside Avenue and serves the residents of our neighbourhoods in south east Scarborough.  We are dedicated to delivering police services, in partnership with our communities, to keep south east Scarborough the best and safest place to be.

The Community Relations Officer at 43 Division prepares a bi-monthly bulletin for the Toronto Police Website outlining information, services, community safety and security articles surrounding the activities that the men and woman in law enforcement at 43 Division are providing to the community. The Kingston Galloway/Orton Park Neighbourhood Action Partnership Safety Committee is working on a number of initiatives to keep your community safe.  The Safety Committee has started to conduct walking audits in partnership with youth in the community.

On May 28 2009, two groups of youth got together from the  Boys &  Girls Club of East Scarborough and East Scarborough Storefront to participate in a walking audit of the route between these two centres.  The purpose of the walk was to encourage youth to use both centres and encourage walking between the two centres.

The committed group sent out with clipboards and flashlight, even though the skies threatened rain.   In attendance that night were members from Public Health, Police Services, Councillor Paul Ainslie, Boys and Girls Club and East Scarborough Storefront.

The youth scanned the walking route looking for ways to make the walk between the two centres safer and encourage walking along Galloway.

Overall the walk went well and the group is making plans for other walking audits in the neighbourhood in the near future.

Request for Committee Members!

The Neighbourhood Action Partnership (NAP) and East Scarborough Storefront invites residents to join the Kingston/ Galloway- Orton Park Neighbourhood Safety Committee.

The KGO safety Committee is looking for enthusiastic individuals who would like to keep our neighbourhood safe.  Some of our current projects are:

Promoting community safety through various events in the neighbourhood

Holding walkability audits to assess the safety of walking in our community

Keeping residents informed and involved in these events

We have lots more ideas and want your feedback!

Anyone living in the Kingston-Galloway/ Orton Park area is welcome to attend! It’s a great way for high school students to use Community Service Hours to benefit the neighbourhoods you live in!

If you would like to be involved or have questions, feedback or suggestions, please contact Amber Lynch at (647) 346-6413.

 Community Safety is everyone’s responsibility!
